Dear Students,
We are thrilled to invite you to the ASA International Data Quest 2025 event! This competition is a fun and collaborative event that offers you the opportunity to explore real-world questions by diving into a rich dataset and showcasing your data skills.
What is Data Quest?
In October 2025, undergraduate and graduate students in Turkey will form teams of 2–4 members to analyze a shared dataset provided by the American Statistical Association (ASA). Over the course of one month, your team will develop insights from the data, create visualizations, and prepare a short (5-minute) YouTube video presentation explaining your findings.

2025· 📝 Registration Deadline: October 20, 2025
(Note: You can register even after the competition has started, but the deadline is fixed and no extensions will be granted.)
Who Can Participate?
· Teams must consist solely of undergraduate students or solely of graduate students. (Undergraduate and graduate competitions will be judged separately.)
· Students from all disciplines may participate—a background in statistics is not required!
Awards
Separate awards will be given to undergraduate and graduate teams in the following categories:
· 🖼️ Best Data
Visualization· ⚖️ Best Addressing of Ethical Issues (in accordance with the ASA’s Ethical Principles https://lnkd.in/dbMMQKXa)
· 📊 Best Statistical Inference
Students who place in this competition will gain valuable experience they can proudly add to their resumes. National champions will advance to the international round to compete for the world championship against teams from Indonesia and Brazil, and all winning teams will receive a one-year free ASA membership.

⚠️ Important Note: The official language of the competition is English. Videos prepared in Turkish will only be evaluated in Turkey; however, participation in the international round is only possible with videos in English.
